Pretty Cool – Holograms

Now I know this is pretty nerdy, and for some, not very cool at all. But following on from the last post, we at Yeah, its Pretty Cool found this to be awesome, if not crazy what you can do with your finger!

You probably think holograms and think of Star Wars, well just think of this as a pretty cool life-size version of it. That you can move around and manipulate with your finger! The guys over at CatchYoo have done a lot of work in this area, and slowly they release really cool new experiemental work with holograms. So after you watch this pretty cool video, take a look at some of their other work for even more cool videos.

Pretty Cool – Multi Touch

Seth Sandler has created something pretty cool. With all the hype about touch computing, especially Multi-Touch due to iPhone and iTouch, here is a pretty cool low budget way to take a normal laptop, a webcam, and turn it into a custom laptop with touch software.

Seth really gives you a true step-by-guide with is pretty cool, as not too many guys out there would do the same. All the cool software he uses is open-source (read: it can be used for free) so as long as you have a spare webcam lying around, you can achieve the same pretty cool effect.

I think its great that everyone is customising laptops and customising software to further push forward touch technology. Sure its mainly the computer geniuses that have the time and the ability to do the pretty cool hacks, but all that means is that it makes it easy for the rest of us to do the same.

So sit back and watch this pretty cool video, and if you try it out, leave a comment and let us know how you go!
